Leeds United are placed at number three after the third game due to an amazing start of the Premier League. Currently, they have two wins and one draw under their belt, and beating Chelsea 3-0 on Sunday shows the strong leadership they have under Jesse Marsch.
Furthermore, Leeds managed to beat Barnsley in the Carabao Cup. There are talks on whether Marsch has his desired team even after purchasing eight players during this summer. They are still searching for the right striker and a left-back.
Their current left-back Pascal Struijk has reduced their need for a new one, and is already filling in for Junior Firpo. Currently Firpo is injured but he has had the most successful tackles in the Premier League.
Now, Leeds has shown interest towards the South Korean player, Hwang Hee-chan who is worth about £25 million, according to Tottenham. Leeds United can definitely afford the hefty price tag, and Tottenham would’ve made a handsome profit after purchasing the player for £15 million last year. He signed on a contract with Tottenham after being on loan with them.
Hwang has managed to score 68 goals after playing over 240 games, which averages him to score every 3.5 games. He has good running skills and takes the opportunity at the slightest chance to win for his team.
Unfortunately for Leeds, Roma is also interested in the South Korean player. But due to the strong connection Marsch has, Leeds may be given priority to purchase the striker. However, due to the doubling in his asking price, Leeds may look past him.
He has undoubtedly rocked the Premier League, but nearly being doubled in value within just a year, that might be a turn off for the team.
On Twitter, football fans have a lot to say with regards to the South Korean player, namely that he is overpriced for his performances. Some fans accused him of cheating by constantly rolling on the ground, especially in matches against Leeds.
The Hwang Hee-chan to Leeds rumours are gathering pace, as per Sky Sports.
They report Jesse Marsch is making the Wolves star his top target before the window shuts.
A few dominoes need to fall in place for Leeds first, however…— James Marshment (@marshyleeds) August 25, 2022
Furthermore, fans on social media claimed that Leeds would be scammed if they purchased him accusing him of being the worst attacker that Tottenham currently has. This is coupled by a number of racial slurs being mentioned by fans.
