Bronny James, son of NBA four-time champion and all-time leading scorer Lebron James, is back on his feet after five months of recovery.
News of Bronny James going into cardiac arrest and passing out during a basketball practice made headlines back in July.
The incident took place at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, and Bronny was promptly taken to the hospital.
Bronny James and cardiac arrest
The 19-year-old’s congenital heart defect , which is treatable and won’t hinder him from pursuing a basketball career , is said to have caused his cardiac arrest, according to many reports.
Thankfully, Bronny was discharged from the hospital three days after his admission. As per sportingnews, the teenager resumed his regular activities, which included going to football games and studying. He even participated in the basketball competition “Trojan HoopLA” held at USC and found enjoyment in it.
Although every update had been encouraging along the way, news of his return was still the most anticipated development.
Bronny gets the green light
A representative for the family said that Bronny James has been given the green light by his medical team to resume his basketball activities. Shams Charania of The Athletic first broke the news on X (formerly Twitter).

But before setting foot on court, the teen will have to first go through a comprehensive evaluation with the USC staff this week.
James on Bronny’s health
During the media day in October, LeBron James also provided updates on Bronny’s health. He stated that his kid has been doing “very well” and that he has started his rehabilitation to be back on the court with his USC teammates this season.
He also added that it has definitely been a whirlwind for him, as his family had gone through a lot of emotions over the summer, and emphasized that the best thing they have now is each other.
“We are happy to see where he is today, and we look forward to seeing what his future still has in store for him,” James said.
