At the Night of the 10,000m PBs, British racers Megan Keith and Patrick Dever will be vying for spots at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. In order to guarantee her spot in the Games, 22-year-old Keith must place among the top two British athletes, even though she already has the qualifying time.

More so, Dever missed the men’s qualifying time of 27 minutes by only eight seconds.

The special event known as the Night of the 10,000m PBs, sometimes referred to as the “Glastonbury” of athletics, is especially more significant this year because it also serves as the UK Olympic trials.

On Saturday night, Parliament Hill in London will host 17 races with participants representing over 30 countries. There would be a back straight DJ and a lane three beer-and-cheer tent, among other innovative additions, which will put spectators at the center of the action.

Britain’s finest athletes will compete for a position in the Olympics in the last two events of the evening. If they meet the qualifying time, the first two UK competitors to cross the finish line will compete at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The qualifying times are decided at 27:00 for men and 30:40 for women.

There is £30,000 in prize money up for grabs, with £6,000 going to the winners of the men’s and women’s championship races. If a championship race winner beats the event records of 27:12.73 for men and 29:59.03 for women, they will get an extra £5,000.
