The Indian Premier League is one of the most followed cricket Leagues in the world. It is considered the highest level and the most famous franchise cricket tournament in the world. Top players from all over the world participate in this league. Youngsters get a chance to showcase their talent and come into the limelight.
The Indian Premier League was founded in 2007 by BCCI. The first edition was played in 2008 and 8 teams were part of that edition. The first edition was won by Rajasthan Royals and was a very huge success then. Since then 14 Editions of IPL have been played to date. Mumbai Indians is the most successful team with 5 titles.
2022 IPL will be the 15th edition of the Tournament which will start from 26th March 2022 and will end on 29th May 2022. This edition has seen an expansion of the league with 2 new teams representing Lucknow and Ahmedabad added to the league. Now the tally has reached 10 teams and they will be playing 74 matches in total. Chennai Super Kings are the defending champions. This year’s league matches will be played entirely in Maharashtra, mainly in Mumbai and Pune.

IPL 2022 Venue and Points Table
The 15th edition of the IPLs group stage matches will be entirely played in Maharashtra. The games will be played in two cities of Mumbai and Pune. Three locations from Mumbai and one from Pune will be hosting the matches. 20 Matches will be hosted by Wankhede stadium in Mumbai, 20 by DY Patil in Navi Mumbai, 15 in Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai and 15 by MCA International Stadium in Pune. The points table will be updated once the league starts.
