Mikey Williams had a look of relief on his face after he entered into a plea deal in court and evaded jail time. The 19-year-old pleaded guilty to one of the charges that was filed against him earlier this year: making criminal threats, as per Fox5sandiego.

According to several reports, if Williams successfully completes the anger management and gun safety courses before his sentencing date of August 12, 2024, the charges against him will be dropped to a misdemeanor.

Williams, who was relieved to be back on track, was shown in a video putting his arms around his pal and exclaiming, “It’s all over,” while strolling cheerfully.

Asked how he felt ‘after court’, the young basketball player responded that he felt good and happy that he finally got out of the situation that cast dark shadows over his bright future.

“I feel good, brother, you know, all glory to God. I’m just happy that I made it out of this situation,” said Williams. “But I’m just excited to get back to the court.”

March Incident

Williams shot into stardom at such a young age, gained millions of followers, and was even touted as one of the most anticipated players of the new generation.

Mikey Williams was already well on his way to a successful basketball career as a four-star recruit in the 2023 class and a player for the Memphis Tigers in the American Athletic Conference.

However, all of this came crashing down when news of the shooting incident came to light, shocking and losing most of his supporters in the process.

Back in March, Williams allegedly shot a vehicle as it sped away from his house at the unincorporated Jamul, eastern San Diego County.

The vehicle was said to have five people in it, and fortunately, no one got hurt. Additional reports stated that Williams had also threatened people, saying, “We better get to stepping or you’ll leave with bullet holes.”

Williams was then charged with 5 counts of assault with a weapon and 1 count of shooting into a moving car.

Williams was then arraigned on five counts of assault with a firearm and one count of shooting into a moving vehicle.

After being arraigned, he was soon freed on $50,000 bail.
