How long Bryce Harper injury will keep him out?
Phillies lose Bryce Harper indefinitely with broken left thumb because Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper suffered an injury by a broken left thumb when he was struck by a pitch from the San Diego Padres’ Blake Snell on Saturday night, an injury that might put him out of the field for some time.
Snell apologized but even in the obvious pain and upset, Harper went on to tell Snell he knows he didn’t hit him intentionally and then he walked off the field. What a legend and a sportsman spirit.
“Things happen for a reason,” Harper told reporters, after the game. “Everybody says that. This reason sucks right now, but at the same time, it is what it is. I’ve got to be positive. I’ve got to be positive for the guys in here. I know they’ll pick up the slack. I’m just really bummed for the organization, the guys, the city of Philadelphia, the fans. I love running out there and playing every day. Definitely bummed.”
“I’ve never had a hand injury like this,” Harper told reporters as he stood at his locker after the game, wearing a splint on his thumb. “Never broken anything in my life. This is new to me, so I’m just going to go day by day, see kind of where we’re at and see the specialist in Philly. And if I do need to see another specialist somewhere, then I will.”
Here’s video of the errant pitch and moment of agony for Bryce.

Bryce Harper was an exceptional find who was destined for greatness from the beginning. His rise to fame started when he was just 12 years old. He has been dubbed the Lebron James of baseball by both critics and fans.
During his early years, he caused a commotion at baseball conventions. The 16-year-old Bryce Harper’s record-breaking home run at Tropicana Field will survive forever in the minds of baseball fans, especially those who support him.
If asked what he wanted to accomplish as a player, Harper knew exactly where he was going.

At the age of 16, Harper’s zeal, self-assurance, and cool head had to be the beginning of something wonderful. The champion pedigree absolutely oozed out of him, as you could see.
The unbreakable spirit Bryce displayed on the baseball field wasn’t all that the teenage Harper was. He was funny, perceptive, and perfectly suited for being in front of the camera. When he was 16 years old, he made the Sports Illustrated cover.
Many people believe that it would be impossible to refute these claims. However, he has disproved the skeptics with his flair and swashbuckling abilities on the baseball field.
His public image as a baseball legend has surged thanks to his heroics for the Philadelphia Phillies and the Washington Nationals.
The 2022 MLB season was a great one for him as he helped the Philadelphia Phillies go to the World Series, where they were defeated by the Houston Astros in six games. He was named the MVP of the National League Championship Series for his consistent performance throughout the season.

After a few weeks of recovery, Kelly Oubre Jr. is finally close to making a comeback.
When Kelly Oubre Jr. got involved in a vehicular accident on November 11, the news upset the sports community, including his former and current teammates.
His teammate Tyrese Maxey even dedicated his first-ever 50-point performance—against the Indiana Pacers—to Oubre.
“Man, this had nothing to do with me. This is all Kelly Oubre, man. We praying for him man, love my dawg. I just met him, but I love him,” said Maxey after the 76ers-Clippers game.
Fortunately, after a few weeks of recuperating, Kelly Oubre Jr., according to several reports, ‘fully participated’ in Monday’s practice and is scheduled to play with the Philadelphia 76ers against the Washington Wizards.
Oubre had been struck by a motor vehicle in Center City, Philadelphia on November 11. And after a careful medical examination, the Sixers later revealed that the 27-year-old forward sustained a fractured rib.
However, the police never found any footage of the accident that took place, causing many to wonder if Oubre had made it all up.
Asked by the media if he was disappointed with the people doubting his accident and thinking that it was all a “cover up for something”, Oubre said that the situation was very traumatic for him and his family, and that the people are very ‘inconsiderate’ and ‘insensitive’ to worry about video cameras. He also added that he’s grateful that it wasn’t worse than it is and that he’s able to come back to work and “smile and talk and breathe”.
In his recent interview, Oubre also expressed gratitude to his friends, family, and the 76ers organization—particularly coach Nick Nurse—for their unwavering support over the entire process.
After monitoring his condition and witnessing that he’s back to his best form on court, the 76ers have cleared him to play against the Wizards on Wednesday.

Bayless’ controversial remarks
Skip Bayless posted on Twitter after the scary event (which forced the game to be postponed). Once there, he made one of the most foolish comments he had ever made in his time as a sports journalist.
So, let me just say this, @RealSkipBayless made the comment on Tuesday’s show that his boss called him Monday night about that tweet he posted. Fox Sports was receiving a lot of negative feed back for it. Now, he’s saying they didn’t??? #makeitmakesense pic.twitter.com/AjsCdUpyZx
In the realm of sports, the post was a complete disaster. As a result, Bayless’s FOX job was called for by fans, who demanded his resignation. In response, Michael Harris used the clown emoji to criticize Bayless’s offensive remark.
The rest of the sporting community has come together to remember Hamlin and feels that postponing the game was the proper course of action. MLB published:
“Today, we’re all on Damar Hamlin’s side. All of us in MLB are keeping Damar, his family, his teammates, and everyone in the NFL in our thoughts.”
After Hamlin’s post went viral, Skip Bayless eventually offered an apology, but the damage had already been done. It’s interesting to note that Shannon Sharpe, who co-hosts “Undisputed” with Bayless, wasn’t present yesterday.
“Skip Bayless expresses regret for the tweet from Damar Hamlin. Shannon Sharpe from UNC didn’t attend Undisputed today.”
The first MLB season for Michael Harris II
A third-round pick of the 2019 MLB Draft by the Atlanta Braves was Michael Harris. In 2022, he made his Major League Baseball debut with them, and that same year, he took home the National League Rookie of the Year Award.
Prior to deciding on Texas Tech, the Louisiana State Tigers baseball team had exclusively recruited the left-hander as a pitcher.
Harris had a bWAR of 5.3 and hit 19 home runs in 414 plate appearances in the 2022 season. Atlanta was thrilled with how he played and anticipates seeing more of the same in the future.
Atlanta Hawks’ Jalen Johnson is forced to resign to the sidelines for the next 4-6 weeks because of his left wrist injury, as reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic.

He sustained the injury during Saturday’s bout against the Washington Wizards. In the second quarter, Johnson was attempting to dunk on the rim when Kyle Kuzma, who attempted to block his shot, bumped into him mid-air, knocking him to the ground.
Johnson then fell into the stanchion and landed on his left hand.
The small forward took a few moments to get up because of the discomfort. Kuzma was sanctioned a foul, thus giving Johnson a chance at the free throws.

Writhing in pain, Johnson had forced himself to stand up and get to the line. With his left hand injured, he only attempted the shot with his right hand before exiting the court.
The Hawks then announced that Johnson wouldn’t be able to play in the game. Despite his absence, the team was able to win the match by a 28-point margin, 136-108.
Having spent his first two NBA seasons mostly on defense, Johnson has gotten off to an outstanding start for the Hawks this season, establishing himself as a dominant two-way player. He’s started 12 of the team’s 15 games this season, and now the fans are wondering who will play in his place.
According to multiple sources, the Hawks could be looking at Saddiq Bey.
With Johnson out, AJ Griffin may also return to the rotation, as per Sports Illustrated.
Atlanta Hawks’ record
Currently, the Hawks record is 8-7, placing them eighth in the overall Eastern Conference standings.
