Erling Haaland

During the Premier League and Champions League matches, Erling Haaland has made waves with his impressive football skills. Many were shocked at the number of goals being shot by a young footballer like him.

Unfortunately, his home country Norway, did not qualify for the World Cup and to some, it appears that it is a loss. Others, who have a distaste for Haaland, rejoiced and claimed that he is still a “novice.”

Those remarks seem unfair towards the young Norwegian player as it is not entirely his fault when his country did not qualify. Furthermore, this does not discount the fact that he was a monster scorer during the first half of this Premier League season.

Fan remarks about Erling Haaland

The memes about him have begun. This specific meme showed a man trying to jump into a television screen where the original poster implied that would be Erling Haaland when he watches the World Cup matches at home.

Fans apparently laughed at that meme. Some claimed that they laughed more than they should. Another one claimed that it was the best joke related to the World Cup thus far, regardless of the other jokes related to the controversies surrounding FIFA and Qatar.

Another tweet about him surfaced where the original poster asked fans on who would be their preferred player, Haaland or Mbappe. Apparently, Mbappe won the poll by having more likes than retweets, which referred to Haaland as an option.

There was a comparison between the two youngsters to their older counterparts. Some identified Haaland as a younger Ronaldo, and Mbappe as a younger Messi. However, the four of them regardless are very different players.

A fan on Facebook casually mentioned that since the World Cup kicked off, the world has apparently forgotten about Erling Haaland. Fans further jabbed his home country Norway for not being able to qualify in the World Cup.

Next, others commented on them not knowing Haaland and that they only know the likes of Richarlison, Kudus, Abubakar and Onana. There were some comments stating that the Premier League is not as major as the World Cup.

Top 5 footballers who never joined the FIFA World Cup

Some fans should be mistaken as legends with the likes of George Best, who on his own is a football legend, did not play in the World Cup in his extensive football career. Granted, joining the World Cup may solidify a players name, but there are also strong Premier League players that managed to leave a mark in the football world without ever joining the tournament.
