Jurgen Klopp Liverpool

Rangers fans were reportedly seen as rude and boastful over Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, and they have disrespected Liverpool in their own home ground Anfield. Many were unhappy with their attitude and disruptiveness.

Liverpool was favoured as the team to more likely win, and they did win 2-0 against the Rangers. Rangers had high spirits after thrashing Hearts in a whopping 4-0 in their last match, but little did they know the whacking they were going to get from Liverpool.

Liverpool’s well known manager had this to say about the Rangers “Qualifying for the Champions League a big, big, big, big achievement. I saw obviously the last game against Hearts. I saw more games but now, especially the last one.

“Really good football team and that’s what we have to prepare for. And a team who have had results they didn’t want, so that’s what they want to change definitely.

“So, we expect a proper fight, a real fight, to be honest, and that’s what we prepare for.”

One of the biggest factors on Liverpool winning the match was that Klopp, with his ingenuity, decided to whip out his new formation on the day of said match. Possibly, Liverpool saw this as an opportunity to test out this new form on a smaller team, however, the risk is still there.

 Jurgen Klopp’s Strategy

Liverpool had missed multiple opportunities to change said formation, and according to the presses, this has been the contributing factor to their slower start of the season. Jurgen Klopp stated that they are to defend “differently” against the Rangers.

According to Liverpoolworld, In Klopp’s standard placement of a 4-3-3 formation, he chose to implement a 4-2-3-1 style of formation. Diogo Jota played at number 10, while the line’s captain was Darwin Nunez.

Thanks to this swap of formation, they had won a 2-0 victory in their home turf against the Rangers.

Jurgen Klopp stated when asked about the sudden formation change, “Our set up was the biggest surprise tonight. We surprised ourselves.

“These situations can happen. Diogo Jota did particularly well in between the lines, Darwin kept them away but now we’ll see what we do when we go to Rangers.

“We respect them a lot. Different game, different occasion and we don’t even think we are kind of halfway through on the right side.

“That’s why I said 2-0 was a top result. Tough game, fight, good, go from here.

“Actually, [it was] nothing to do with the game. It had a little bit to do with the game, but not too much – it was for us.

“We wanted to defend differently to what we usually do – if you have seen us for a few years now, if somebody was criticising us for defending, it was more [people] talking about a high line.”
