According to Sky News, Cristiano Ronaldo wishes to leave Manchester United in order to play in the Champions League but the club, however, insist that the 37-year-old is not for sale and that “there is no change in the club’s position.”
Manchester apparently denied the claims made by the media that it will cancel or terminate Ronaldo’s contract for some reasons.
But one thing is for sure. Ronaldo’s future at Manchester United is being scrutinised further with even more persistent rumors of the latter making a move to leave the club for one that is playing in the Champions League.
The 37-year-current old’s contract expires in 12 months, with an option for another year. Ronaldo has, recently, denied rumors he was leaving the club before the start of the new season.
In a cryptic message on Instagram, Ronaldo slammed critics and the media, telling to report the real news, not fake news.
In the end, Ronaldo is still with Mancheter United though he is also now part of the disastrous start of the season for this prestigious club.
On rumors of a fallout this week between Ronaldo and club officials, the official response from Manchester United is that the Portugal international is not for sale. “There is no change in the club’s position,” said a club spokesperson.
Ronaldo appeared frustrated during United’s 4-0 loss at Brentford on Saturday, which dropped Erik ten Hag’s team to the bottom of the Premier League table.
Meanwhile, it appears that both Inter Milan and AC Milan passed up the chance to sign the Manchester United forward.
Inter Milan and AC Milan were reportedly both interested in signing Cristiano Ronaldo. In a new blow, both clubs are said to have passed up the chance to sign the ‘wantaway’ Manchester United star.
In his last tweet dated 11th August, Ronaldo wrote that hard work finally pays off. The veteran player, who played for Manchester United in his debut in the Premier League in August 2003. The Portuguese came on as a substitute in his first official match for Man Utd to beat Bolton 4-0.
Cristiano Ronaldo is not leaving Manchester United
The transfer period this year has ended, and teams with their current players will have to make do with what they have. Rumours were rife Cristiano Ronaldo has been demanding to leave Manchester United for quite a while now but he is definitely staying with them at least till the next transfer period.
According to some British media, the Portuguese superstar had intentions to leave Old Trafford in order to represent a team in the Champions League. Unsatisfied that his team will be playing in the Europa League instead of the Champions, this is due to United scoring their lowest ever point in 30 years.
The news reports say Ronaldo has expressed his desire to leave Manchester United especially after the numerous defeats they had received. But in reality, the superstar never said he is leaving Man Utd.But Erik ten Hag has benched him in the past two games in the Premier League.
He returned to United from his previous club Juventus last year. His early days were spent in United and that was decades ago. He scored 24 goals across all games and his two previous managers were having difficulties handling the club, some blamed Ronaldo for United’s poor performances.
The same reports wanted Jorge Mendes, Ronaldo’s current agent, to have tried to arrange multiple transfers for him, but unfortunately the transfer period has ended. Now with the recent cash injection towards the club, they feel that maybe he might just stay in the club.
Ronaldo came to the club again during Rag Rangnick’s tenure and he left in the middle of this year and was subsequently replaced by the Dutchman. Some speculated whether Ronaldo will be an important player in the team and others have accused him of losing the necessary qualities in order to play within his new manager’s rules.
Just a few weeks back, an unnamed Saudi Arabian club wanted to purchase Ronaldo’s services for £211 million. The fee was to be settled within two years, which would equate to £2 million a week. Unfortunately for him, his wish did not come true and he will have to fight among his teammates if he wants to be on the field.
Now, with all that has happened, Ronaldo will be expected to stay put with United and play another half of a season of the Europa League, to the least. The staff at United’s training facility stated that he has improved his mindset for the better. It was also alleged that he accepted the fact that he has to remain with them.
Just a few days ago, Manchester United had purchased Antony from Ajax and the total paid was £85.5 million. Thus far, the club has acquired five new players including two from Ajax and it is hopeful that they would maintain a good streak in the Premier League to bring back their good name.
Manchester United may finally be sold, Ronaldo is also leaving
The drama between Ronaldo, the Glazers and Manchester United may come to an end soon as two major news stories have dropped recently. The first is, Ronaldo has decided to part ways with a mutual agreement with his soon to be former Premier League club.
Cristiano Ronaldo leaving United
According to ESPN, the club stated “Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect.
“The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wishes him and his family well for the future.
“Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on continuing the team’s progress under Erik ten Hag and working together to deliver success on the pitch.”
Furthermore, rumours are flying around that the club has not paid him to leave them. Allegations of him underperforming and not respecting Erik ten Hag were one of the reasons why United wanted him to leave.

Furthermore, he does not have to wait until the January transfer window to change Premier League clubs as he is no longer affiliated with one. This is going to be interesting, plus now that he is going to play for Portugal in the other controversial topic, the FIFA World Cup.
Fans viewpoint on Ronaldo leaving
Cristiano Ronaldo statement 🚨🇵🇹
“Following talks with Manchester United, we’ve mutually agreed to end our contract.
I love Manchester United and I love the fans, that will never ever change.
It feels like the right time to seek a new challenge.
Fans that support Ronaldo still are adamant that he is the greatest of all time. “What is Cristiano Ronaldo? He’s life, he’s everything that matters for me, I put him before my family, beliefs and work. He’s the sole purpose of my life,” stated another fan.
Others were stating that he is the greatest player to have ever played for Manchester United, and that it is a loss that he’s leaving. There were tweets indicating his time as being unappreciated, but fans will never forget him.
He is not that kind of player who dont want 90. he even wants 100 mins to play
There were naysayers that jabbed against Ronaldo for joining the Piers Morgan interview for 90 minutes and claimed that he never was on the field for that long. However, Ronaldo fans hit them back by saying that he would play for the club for even longer, but he was simply not given the fair chance to do so.
Glazers selling off United
The news that most Manchester United fans have been waiting for the last 17 years has officially been told yesterday. The Glazers are finally putting up the troubled club for sale. However, Sir Jim Ratcliffe claims that it is “bad omen” according to the Manchester Evening News.

Ever since Malcolm Glazer held the reins of Manchester United, the family has been an unpopular figure lurking behind the scenes. They took over the club all the way back in 2005 for the price of £790 million, and that imposed massive debts for the club.
As a protest early in the Glazers’ reign, United fans wore the green and gold colours of Newton Heath, the 1878 club that became Manchester United 24 years later.
But, because the Glazers stayed mostly in the United States and out of the spotlight, they managed to avoid the protests.
Fans reaction to this
Ronaldo’s interview has forced the Glazers to sell up. Incredible. 🔥🔥 https://t.co/eGnuUcYC2S
Piers Morgan stated that the interview with Ronaldo done by him has been one of the stepping stones for the Glazers to sell off the club. This is seen as an achievement, as stated earlier, they were not well liked by fans due to their stinginess on purchasing new powerful players.
Fans agreed that Ronaldo was a big part of them wanting to sell the club, fans protesting against them is the other lesser reason. The justification that he is the reason why is that this whole mess is a huge PR disaster and that it must have definitely affected shareholders and sponsors.
Fans were joking that the club might have the potential in having a new Arab owner and that they might request for Ronaldo to come back to the club. However, we will have to wait and see who is the next owner of the club and how United will ride the upcoming storm with their current instability.
Manchester United had an awful start to this season and Cristiano Ronaldo is not too happy with some of the club’s decisions. It appears with the recent winnings and the proper stable guidance by Ten Hag, the club is looking at better days.
Casemiro, who is a five-time Champion League winner was the most recent purchase done by United. They are far away from finishing the player structure. Ronaldo scored for them impressively last season, with 24 goals in 38 appearances.
However, the ageing footballer, who is 37 now, was playing for a team that was run by three managers and was jumping from one crisis to another crisis. Anyways, regardless of his contributions, the club did not win any trophy last year as they finished in sixth place.
Now, rumours are brewing that Anthony, who is a winger, is going to join United from his club Ajax. Ronaldo has yet to prove that Manchester United can continue on without him as Ten Hag’s wise decisions will help the team.
Spending €95 million in purchasing Anthony, and Ronaldo is still the only forward in the team that can score goals in a constant manner. The club has to be considering a new future without Ronaldo in it.
Sir Alex Furgeson at the time removed striker Ruud van Nistelrooy and shipped him to Real Madrid all the way back in 2006. At the time this was seen as mad courage as Van Nistelrooy scored 150 goals in 219 games.
The main reason why is that Van Nistelrooy had been a sombre presence for younger players in the locker room. It was stunting and restricting the growth of a much younger teammate, Ronaldo. Sir Alex Furgeson later admitted that it was a wise decision to let him go.
The end of the transfer deadline is approaching and is just a few days away, Ronaldo is in talks with an opponent to leave Manchester United again. There is a strong possibility that he might finally leave United again, and this time probably for good.
Ever since they have not been qualified in the Champions League, he has been fighting for a transfer. It is alleged that he might be joining Chelsea this year. Jorge Mendes, who is Ronaldo’s agent, is reported to have been in talks with the blues.
Erik ten Hag is still adamant that he wants Ronaldo on his team despite benching the player for multiple times. Ironically, just a few days ago there were news reports on why Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea’s manager, was not that keen on Ronaldo.
It was clear Tuchel wasn’t interested in signing Ronaldo, as he was apparently influenced by Ralf Rangnick. Rangnick was Manchester United’s previous manager before Ten Hag. Todd Boehly was excited to sign Ronaldo, but as usual Tuchel was firm with his decision.
Rangnick told Tuchel that Ronaldo’s lack of desire to press the opposing team will not suit Chelsea’s methods well. Hence Tuchel decided to take his friend’s advice, but things may change in the next few hours.
Ronaldo’s future affected by Manchester United summer spending
The obvious problems lurking with Erik ten Hag and Cristiano Ronaldo have been discussed several times on our site and also among football fans. It was apparent throughout the past few weeks that Ronaldo was looking at every opportunity to leave United.
Unfortunately for Ronaldo’s career, he did not get any offers from other European clubs, but got offers from the Middle East. Furthermore, with the situation he is in, he doesn’t get the chance to perform well as his time on the field is extremely limited.
Last week’s incident of him leaving the stadium early during a Manchester United vs Tottenham sparked waves. What was Erik ten Hag’s approach? Humiliating Ronaldo publicly in the media by stating that he will “punish” the world renown player, as if such a move would improve their already strained relationship. Ronaldo was also fined for two weeks’ salary and made to train on his own.
Manchester United’s financial issues
Now, according to the Atlantic, United has a grave concern when it comes to money. The topic of dividends was a hot topic for the club and the rationale on why club funds were given to shareholders instead were brought up.
The response that was given from the Glazers was that the team as a company lost £115.5 million. Dividends totaling £33.6 million were distributed among stockholders, with the Glazers receiving the majority of the funds.
Manchester United also took another £40 million on available overdrafts, adding to United’s financial load. The club did think of finding a loophole in terminating Ronaldo’s contract, as he is the highest paid player in the team, and it appears that they can’t afford him.
This is only if Ronaldo is willing to forgo his pay for six months. It is unclear if he would be willing to do that or not. Maybe this could be the reason why Ten Hag is obviously giving him the short end of the stick, in order for him to terminate his contract earlier than expected?
After the whole ordeal that happened last week, Ten Hag removed Ronaldo for their match against Chelsea, and Manchester United was also charged by the FA for that match. Now he stated that Ronaldo was removed for only one match and will continue to play for the other matches.
Questions arise on his statement as commenters are asking “which part of the match” will Ronaldo be playing. Will it go back to the same problem that was apparent from before, where the legend will be called for a 2 minute play on the field, or will it be an improved situation from before.
Netizens are stating that Manchester United’s coaches have forgotten his contribution to the team in the last Premier League season. Ten Hag defenders claim that Cristiano is out of shape and not fit to play the field (as though they’re the experts).
“Ten Hag has no plan for Cristiano Ronaldo, stating that he is important to the team is just a professional statement,” said a netizen. Others are accusing Ten Hag of gaslighting the whole situation, if the 37-year-old scores, he inspired him, if he doesn’t score, it was right for him to be benched.
Many are stating that having Ronaldo on board is still a positive outlook for the club as he will definitely inspire younger players to follow in his footsteps. Case in point, Antony, who is still a fresh player but has been reportedly close to him.
Who cares what Ten Hag says on Ronaldo’s Saudi Arabian move?
Manchester United defeated the Wolves last Saturday and their manager, and Erik ten Hag refused to comment on Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Saudi Arabia, but really who cares what he has to say? It appears that their feud is still ongoing which is no surprise.
On Friday, Ronaldo completed his transfer to Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr and signed a contract with the team through 2025. His enormous contract, which is reportedly worth £173 million a year, comes one month after his United contract was mutually ended as a result of a controversial interview with Piers Morgan.
With Marcus Rashford scoring for the third game in a row since the World Cup to defeat Wolves 1-0, United has not yet missed the Portuguese superstar. Ten Hag punished Rashford for some late arrivals but had to bow down and field the scorer to win the match.
After Ronaldo claimed he felt “betrayed” by the club, Ten Hag was eager to get rid of the player, and he is now eager to put the incident behind him.
Ten Hag stated, “I don’t talk about the past, let’s talk about the future.”
He then added, “First time we are in the top four, but it means nothing because it is a long way to go. We have to live from game to game, get in the position to win something.”
With regards to Manchester United’s current win, we will have to wait and see how they will compete against the ever growing Reds in the Premier League. Furthermore, with the transfer period just beginning in January, it will give a chance to all the Premier League teams to beef up their player rotation.
Fan reaction to Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr move
Cristiano Ronaldo's reported contract at Al-Nassr will see him earn $548k a day 😳💰 pic.twitter.com/AFBVFP7Uel
Netizens are rumourmongering that Ronaldo will be paid $500,000 a day with Al-Nassr. It is a pretty penny for a days work. The cost breakdown shows that he will earn $6.00 per second. It seems to be that Ronaldo has woken up in a better place after leaving his old club.
Fans that disagree with his move to Al-Nassr posted screenshots of him making statements that he would rather retire in “dignity” instead of playing with USA, and Arab clubs. The statement appears to be true, as the Guardian published a whole article about it in 2015.
Those that are unhappy with him earning that amount of money stated that he doesn’t need more. These people then claimed that the Middle Easterners are “human rights abusers” and that he should not be playing for a club like that.
More comparisons were made between Ronaldo and Messi. Messi fans stated that Ronaldo has lost the battle ground to be our generation’s greatest of all time. Comments that describe their surprise that Ronaldo is joining an Arab team are also quite apparent.
Positive remarks about him taking over the Middle East are also quite a popular opinion. He is still an amazing player regardless of all the unfortunate incidents that laid upon him in 2022. Statements of him ending his European career for joining Al-Nassr were made.
