A controversy stirred up by a female wrestler has ended in allegations of an AEW backstage mess.
The AEW backstage is a mess, says WWW veteran Dutch Mantel. He wants AEW founder Tony Khan to exercise better control.
His comments came after Canadian wrestler LuFisto complained she was badly treated and said the women’s division should be run better.
Several WWE stars responded by criticising LuFisto and defending the organisation.
But Dutch Mantel said AEW higher-ups might have asked the wrestlers to attack LuFisto.
LuFisto complained about the treatment she received in an interview with Fightful magazine. She said she might have been treated badly because she didn’t have an official contract.
Commenting on her allegations, Dutch Mantel said: “I don’t think she got any instruction and not a lot of direction, so she was flying blind. So, I’m not gonna blame her, nor am I going to blame the AEW backstage personnel. Because I think, my personal opinion is, that the AEW backstage is a mess. I don’t think there’s… Once it leaves Tony’s hands and he delegates all these other representatives to pick up what needs to be done. I think it’s a… I don’t think nobody knows… the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing,” an article from sportskeeda.com shared.
LuFisto mentioned she had problems with the wrestler Ruby Soho.
Ruby Soho vehemently denied the allegations on Twitter.
FTR’s Dax Harwood and WWE star Bayley backed AEW’s Ruby Soho.
In a gesture of solidarity, wrestler Dax Harwood said he had personally experienced Soho’s amazing kindness. “Legit have never met someone more genuine, honest, and sweet as you. The wrestling world doesn’t not deserve someone as good as you. We’re lucky,” Dax Harwood tweeted.
Also supporting Soho, WWE superstar Bayley made fun of Tamina and Soho’s friendly battle for the prized “Nicest Person” title. “You should see her vs Tamina for the nicest person in the world award, and it’s always a draw…it’s soooooo annoying,” Bayley tweeted.
Other stars like MJF and Madison Rayne also came out in support of Soho.
