While being under Thomas Tuchel’s strict rules, Chelsea’s future looked brighter than Erling Haaland’s future. However, when Tuchel was sacked apparently for losing a few games, he was immediately replaced with Graham Potter.
Potter previously managed Swansea City and Brighton. According to fans, he lacks the credentials to be the leader of a club as prestigious as Chelsea. Initially, there were some doubts about his abilities, but now it is confirmed that fans do not see him in a favourable light.
Furthermore, fans from other clubs admitted that Tuchel was a better manager for Chelsea. We definitely know the situation is rough when even fans from competing clubs are able to observe the flaws of a new manager and openly discuss that the old one should return.
According to the Daily Mail, Potter admitted a few hours ago that he found managing Chelsea a challenging task. However, he did say if he wanted an “easy” job, he would’ve remained in Brighton. This is after the English man lost two out of three recent matches in the Premier League.
Potter remarked, “If I wanted a nice, easy life, I could have quite easily stayed at Brighton in the Premier League, signed a new contract and been absolutely okay.
“And I wouldn’t have had too many questions about myself, pressure, sackings or anything like that.”
Chelsea fans want Potter out!
A Chelsea fan page on Facebook posted that they want Graham Potter out, and if that wasn’t bad enough, they even listed down potential replacements that they think would be able to lead Chelsea better.
Four names were mentioned, Tuchel, Mourinho, Conte and Sarri. These other managers are well experienced in handling major clubs such as Chelsea. Furthermore, Tuchel created magic when he entered Chelsea by making them win the Champions League while only managing the club for just a few months.
Granted, Tuchel is a passionate man and has gotten into hot waters in the media several times. This could probably be the reason why he was told to depart Chelsea, and he did it in a classy and graceful manner.
One fan rejected the idea and suggested that other fans wait and see for further improvements. Furthermore, Potter’s contract with Chelsea is allegedly until 2029. Other fans were not too pleased about having that specific knowledge.
The amount of fans wanting Tuchel back is at an all time high. Other Potter defenders did say that fans should take a closer look at the players themselves, rather than blaming the manager.
Currently, this season of the Premier League, Champions League and the Europa League is more intense than ever as the World Cup will be splitting the games in two halves. A large number of players are subsequently injured as plenty of these games are rushed and players are not having enough time to rest between matches.
On Twitter, a fan did a poll asking who is better. Retweet if they’d prefer Potter, like if they’d want Tuchel back. The results are quite sad for Potter as he got 200 retweets and Tuchel got over 12,000 likes.
“Potter is not the man for the job, we actually sacked a Champions league winner for a local township coach.” These comments surely would sting Potter if he ever read them. Fans were mocking his remarks saying that the footballers have given everything for their last loss claiming that it was just a poor display.
Will Chelsea ever bring back Thomas Tuchel? Or would they keep Potter to manage the declining club and see where it goes?
