Saudi Arabian football club Al Nassr is expected to sign Portugal and former Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo, 37, and there are talks the transfer will be complete by the end of the year.

The former Manchester United player will sign a two-and-a-half year deal worth 200 euros (£174m). Al Nassr Football Club is based in Riyadh. Formed in 1955, the club plays its home games at the Mrsool Park.

Before the month of January officially begins, Cristiano Ronaldo’s transfer to Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr appears to be finalised.

As Portugal exited the 2022 World Cup in the quarterfinals, Ronaldo, 37, returned to Europe after his post-World Cup break and is currently working out with Real Madrid.

Ronaldo has been given permission to use the training facilities at Real Madrid City, which means he is not training with his former teammates.

Arsenal and Brazil forward Gabriel Martinelli, 21, is set to sign a new deal with the club worth £200,000-a-week.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Gabriel Martinelli is “getting closer” to deciding to dedicate his future to Arsenal.

Arsenal has been in contact with Martinelli’s representatives about extending his stay in north London past the end of his current contract, which runs through 2024.

Romano claims that although nothing has been fully agreed upon or signed, the negotiation is now in its “final stages.”

French champions Paris St-Germain want to tie 35-year-old Argentina forward Lionel Messi to the club in the next few days. The World Cup winner’s contract runs out next summer and he is free to talk to clubs outside of France from 1 January.

A tentative agreement between Paris Saint-Germain and Lionel Messi should allow the Argentine to stay with the team through the 2023–24 season. He signed a two-year contract when he joined the Ligue 1 club in 2021, so his current deal only lasts until the summer of 2023.
