Erling Haaland, the pride and joy for Manchester City and Pep Guardiola has proven himself to be a powerhouse again. His procession against the Wolves has brought his league total to 11 goals as of Sunday. He has scored 14 goals from 10 matches. Haaland continues to impress the general public despite efforts from Jack Grealish and Phill Foden.

Haaland’s impressive record has brought scepticism towards other players. This season has taught Haaland a lot, and he has proved himself to be above others every single time. He has outscored Chelsea, Manchester United and other Premier League teams as well. Just in an instant, Manchester City was in the lead and the Wolves were already in the red.

Nathan Collins was red-carded after he kicked Grealish. City currently has a record of being unbeaten in 22 away games in the Premier League. Let’s hope with Haaland around, they are able to keep that record. Haaland became the first player ever in the Premier League to score in all his away games.

There have been numerous comparisons between Jack Grealish and Haaland, and City’s manager defended Grealish. Observers are claiming that Guardiola has been performing lacklusterly. In Guardiola’s defence, Grealish was left alone for last Wednesday’s Champions League victory against Borussia Dortmund. Kevin De Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan were not on the field to support Grealish, hence the performance was reflected on the field.

Grealish was replaced under Guardiola’s orders after the clock reached the 58 minute mark. Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez joined Grealish and were respectively replaced by John Stones and Erling Haaland. When these two powerhouse came on the field, the game’s direction changed towards Manchester City’s favour.

Now, Grealish has only had six goals in his 38 appearances in all competitions while playing for Manchester City. The 27 year old player’s position in the team is currently being questioned towards Guardiola. However, Guardiola must have his reasons for keeping Grealish on his team.

“Rightly so people have been asking questions,” Grealish told the British media. “I should be scoring more and getting more assists. I’m always going to have people talking about me because of the amount I got bought for [£100m] but, if you look at my whole career, I probably haven’t scored as much as certain people. It’s something that I do want to add to my game.”
