After the tragic start to this year’s Premier League, Manchester United’s luck might wear out thin when facing Liverpool on Monday. Currently, they are ranked at the bottom for the first time in 30 years

Liverpool has been having a fair share of issues on their own, the draws with Fulham and Crystal Palace has already affected their chances at the start of the season. Now, Liverpool is four points behind Manchester City.

After suffering a humbling 4-0 score against Brentford, Manchester United has even lost to Brighton, a rare win for the opponents at Old Trafford. Reports state that this is the worst start in the league for Manchester United in over a century.

United fans are not happy about this. Furthermore, they are also blaming the owners of the club, the Glazers, for wanting to sell the club which leads to instability. According to the Manchester United Supporters Trust, they said “A fish rots from the head”.

Coach Erik ten Hag then had this to say, “I can only say the owners want to win – and the fans, we want them behind the club.

“I can understand sometimes but I am not that long in the club that I can see all the backgrounds, but we have to be unified and fight together.”

Now, with the protests, United fans are demanding a postponement of their match against Liverpool. That said, Jurgen Klopp requested that Liverpool deserves points if the match is to be delayed.

“We have nothing to do with the situation and if the supporters want the game not happening, then we cannot just rearrange the game again and fit it in somewhere in an incredibly busy season.

“People tell us we are fine, we go there and play the game hopefully and go home. But in a situation like this, always the other team should get the points because they have nothing to do with it and they have prepared for it.” said Jurgen Klopp.

Reports have stated that Klopp has given Erik advice to ignore the “sharks” who have been gunning against the Dutchman since the beginning of coaching United. He then told Erik to not focus on the negative sayings and focus on his team.

“I am pretty sure that it’s the same for each club. I don’t think it’s anything different for bigger clubs. Sure, if you lose then the first five articles in newspapers are about that.

Klopp then added “But if you are strong enough not to read that then you can have an okay life and just work on the important stuff. So that’s what I have done for seven years and that helps me. That is the only advice I could give.”
