Antony

Antony, who joined the Premier League with Manchester United for £81 million, which later increased to £86 million with add-ons at 22-years-old, is now causing problems for other Premier League clubs.

Grealish, 27, departed his previous club, Aston Villa in August 2021 in a British transfer record-breaking £100 million deal to join Manchester City.

The extravagant spending of Arsenal’s Premier League competitors has hurt Mikel Arteta’s ability to sign Mykhailo Mudryk, a promising young Ukrainian player.

After Christmas, the Gunners attempted to purchase Mudryk for £55 million, but they were unsuccessful.

They are looking for a forward to replace Gabriel Jesus. After undergoing surgery for a knee injury acquired at the World Cup in Qatar, the 25-year-old Brazilian attacker is expected to miss several months of action.

Prospect Mudryk of Shakhtar Donetsk, who debuted this season by scoring 11 goals in 19 games, including three in the Champions League, would be a welcome addition to the Arsenal assault. However, because of the high price Shakhtar put on his head, the north Londoners will have to shell out top bucks to get the eight-cap Ukraine winger.

The Eastern European club will expect a comparable amount to release Mudryk, who has four years left on his contract, after taking note of previous extremely expensive moves elsewhere on the continent. Carlo Nicolini, the deputy sporting director of Shakhtar, spoke openly about the growing interest in the young player and made analogies to the moves of Jack Grealish and Antony.

Carlo Nicolini, the supporting director of the Eastern European Club stated,  “Arsenal may have made such an offer, but there is a negotiation. Players have been sold that clubs wanted to sell and that we believe are no stronger than Mudryk with a valuation of around €100million (£88m), so the €60m (£53m) is not enough.

“I’m not the one making the figure, I don’t have particular indications from the company, but the sporting director said that we need an important offer closer to Grealish than to Antony. If the cash figure is €40m (£35m), then it’s not even being taken into consideration.”

Comments about Antony’s value

There are Twitter fans that are stating that other fans should not care how much a club pays for a player as it is not “their money.” United fans are complaining as they feel that the club got rid of Ronaldo in order to be able to afford new players by paying them his salary anyways.

Talks on how Manchester United’s spending is increasing player rates for all clubs are also rising. Regardless, the market will follow according to the highest bidder. Unfortunately for clubs like Arsenal, if they insist on taking in Mudryk, they would then have to give in to the demands of his Ukrainian team.
