Brandon Belt

Brandon Belt, the 34-year-old star baseball player, is to join the Blue Jays. The Blue Jays have gone up under an official overhaul after the team and Belt have reached an agreement to a one-year contract that is worth $9.3 million.

According to mlb.com, the team has not yet made a statement regarding the agreement, which was first reported by Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle.

Belt’s background

The former San Francisco Giant started his baseball career when he was a college student for both San Jacinto College and the University of Texas at Austin. He then started his true professional career with the San Francisco Giants in 2011 and his career took off from there.

He has played for the Giants for 12 seasons and has two World Series rings (2012) and (2014). When he was younger, Belt played some outfield for the Blue Jays, but now that he is a first baseman and DH option, he gives manager John Schneider a significant upgrade as a bench hitter on days when he is not in the lineup.

The Blue Jays have given importance to Belt’s career on-base percentage of.356, which is a high mark. Despite having lineups that were outstanding on paper, Toronto failed to reach the postseason in 202. They were destroyed in the American League Wild Card round this past season.

Will the Blue Jays take a fresh approach to the same old issue?

With the free-agent signing of Kevin Kiermaier and a significant trade for Daulton Varsho, their response has primarily focused on defence. Now, with Belt, the Blue Jays hope to diversify an offence that frequently relied on right-handed batters to deliver a huge blow. Those two took the place of fan favourites Teoscar Hernández and Lourdes Gurriel Jr.

Public opinion on Brandon Belt

Generally, fans are pleased to have Brandon Belt in the Blue Jays, they feel that he can revamp their team and prepare them for the MLBs. For the team to sign a World Series champion is considered as something remarkable.

Belt is giving fans hope that his skills may help the Blue Jays to win this season’s MLB. Furthermore, he is still at a young age and there are other professional athletes like Cristiano Ronaldo who are still making waves in their professions.
