Popovich

The New Orleans Pelicans defeated the San Antonio Spurs 146-110 to record their 21st defeat. Coach Gregg Popovich admitted that following their most recent victory over the Los Angeles Lakers, which snapped an 18-game losing streak, they exceeded expectations in most categories.

The youthful squad struggled to maintain momentum against the hot-riding Pelicans, who won 16-11 to seal their fourth straight victory, underscoring the Spurs’ continued problems.

After the Spurs’ defeat to New Orleans, Coach Popovich stated that his team was still having trouble finding a rhythm on both offense and defense. With 38 assists, a franchise-high 22 three-pointers, and their second-highest point total ever, the Pelicans achieved a historic feat.

San Antonio has to critically reevaluate themselves in light of the Pelicans’ remarkable performance, which exposed areas in which the Spurs need to improve.

Popovich – Whooping!

Popvich shared; “Pure and simple, drop the mic, period. They had a great night shooting. We couldn’t throw it in the ocean. On top of shooting well, they played very well. We weren’t the sharpest we needed to be. Yeah, whooped. Real good.” an article from sportskeeda.com shared.

Leading the way with 17 points, 13 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 4 assists, Wemby put on an outstanding display. The squad’s efforts were supported by 13 points apiece by Devin Vassell and Keldon Johnson.

But San Antonio was unable to overcome the fearsome New Orleans players, led by Brandon Ingram, who finished with 26 points, three rebounds, and four assists. CJ McCollum, their point guard, was outstanding, scoring 29 points and dishing out two assists.

Even though certain players gave excellent performances, New Orleans’s collective strength won out and overshadowed San Antonio’s heroic efforts on the floor.

Maybe not a big trade

OG Anunoby, Jordan Clarkson, John Collins, Zach LaVine, Pascal Siakam, and others are said to be possible trade targets for the San Antonio Spurs, who are heating trade negotiations this season. The young team’s success this year is something that fans are looking for—a trade.

“Our focus is not immediate other than individual development and team concepts. But if there’s a trade that would make sense both now and for long-term, of course, we look at it. Brian Wright and his guys are probably doing that already.” an article from sportskeeda.com mentioned.
