In an unexpected historical match, The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Indiana Pacers with a record of 150-145, putting on their best scoring performance in 37 years. The team, led by basketball superstars LeBron James and Anthony Davis, had four players score at least 25 points.
Davis led the victory with 36 points, 16 rebounds, and a solid 15 of 21 shooting from the field. Austin Reaves gained 25 points which include six free throws in the last minute to guarantee the team’s victory. Moreover, James and Spencer Dinwiddie scored 26 points each.
History made 37 years after
According to the NBA, these four players became the first group of teammates to each score at least 25 points in 3 years, and the first Lakers players to reach such an achievement since 1971.
After the first quarter, Indiana led the game by six points. However, the Lakers offensively surged in the second and third quarters and scored 86 points.
“Offensively, we were very sharp.. We had some turnovers in the first quarter and first half but cleaned it up in the second half,” James stated after the game.
On the other hand, the Pacers, who saw their team come up short despite a late-quarter comeback, had five of their starters and eight players all score in double figures. With the second-highest offensive rating in the league right now, Indiana has had one of the greatest offenses in the league the whole season.
