Green

After James Harden, the X users have now turned their attention to Draymond Green, who’s taken the spotlight after being ejected twice in a row from the Warriors’ games.

And so far, most of the fans have nothing good to say about the 33-year-old power forward. Because as soon as the issue spread, his turbulent past was also dug up from the past, with one user even taking the time to compile all the times Green has been in his most unsportsmanlike behavior.

Last week, Green’s name was safe from all the harsh criticism. So, where did it all start?

Green vs Mitchell

Green’s first infraction came during the Warriors’ matchup against the Cavaliers. At one point during the third quarter, Green pushed Donovan Mitchell, which caused him to dove straight out of court.

In retaliation, Mitchell ran towards Green and pushed him, effectively calling the officials’ attention and immediately requesting to review the incident.

After the push was verified by review, Green received his second foul and was consequently removed from the game.

Green vs. Gobert

Green’s second infraction came during the Warriors vs. Timberwolves game, of which Stephen Curry was unfortunately not a part due to his injury.

Just 1:43 minutes into the game, a scuffle emerged between Klay Thompson and Jaden McDaniels, and in an attempt to break off the two, Timberwolves’ Rudy Gobert placed his arm around Thompson to try to get him off McDaniels when suddenly Green attacked Gobert from behind and put him in a headlock.

Green, along with Thompson and McDaniels, were ejected from the game. In addition, the players were also fined $25,000 for their unruly behavior. Green, on the other hand, was slapped with a 5-game suspension without pay, as per NBA PR.

In their statement, the NBA said that the suspension was based in part of Green’s history of unsportsmanlike behavior. And upon reading this, many people vented their frustrations in the comments section because the punishment was too light. Some suggested that it should extend into 10, or even 20 games, as the chokehold was clearly unnecessarily aggressive and went on for too long and that Green was a repeat offender.
