Former Warriors Andre Iguodala says that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander woke up a sleeping giant after making a cheeky move on Instagram.
Shai’s Instagram post
No one can deny that Shai’s performance has been phenomenal in the regular season. The 25-year-old has amassed impressive stats of 29.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 5.8 assists.
He’s shown up to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder in a number of victories, resulting in a 10-4 record, behind only the Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference standings.
And before the Warriors game, Shai didn’t find himself in the center of criticism.
But this all changed after the OKC Thunder won against the Warriors in an overtime victory of 130-123 and he posted snippets of him outplaying Curry on several occasions.
Captioned with “I was feeling like e-40 in the Bay, so i had to go dumbbbbb”, the post appeared to be nothing out of the ordinary. Shai has always loved to post his fits on Instagram.
In that particular post, he posted two photos of him donning a striking red polo shirt to go with a khaki-colored pants. But as individuals scrolled beyond these images, they were met with several pieces of footage showing him scoring while Curry was defending him and blocking Curry’s shots.
Ticked off by the point guard’s cheeky post, fans were quick to defend Curry, including former Warriors Andre Iguodala.
In his ‘Point Forward’ podcast, Iguodala said, “He [Shai Gilgeous-Alexander] posted ‘I felt like E40 in the bay because I was going dumb’ and he had all his clips. I love the competitive spirit, but he just might have woke up a sleeping giant.”
He added that after Shai’s diss, he’s now looking forward to the Warriors next five games.

The fans, meanwhile, clamored that Shai perhaps didn’t comprehend the gap between him and Curry. Sure, he may have had an outstanding performance this season, but Curry won his first championship at 26. And Shai turns 26 in eight months, so if he really wants to level with ‘the best point guard’ in the league, then he has to win it this season.
Warriors vs. Rockets
In their first game after their loss against OKC Thunder, the Warriors won against the Rockets 121-116, officially snapping their six-game losing streak.
