India’s biggest cricket event is back, and now it’s bigger and better. With the Inclusion of two new franchises, IPL will now be conducted with 10 teams that represent various Indian cities. Teams have been restructured and players have been shifted from one team to another. IPL initially started with 8 teams and now it’s looking to expand itself. The two new teams are based in Lucknow and Ahmedabad.
The 2022 IPL will be the 15th edition of the tournament which will be played in India. The league stages of this edition will be completely played in Maharashtra, mainly in Mumbai and Pune. 74 matches will be played by 10 teams and the tournament will start from 26th March and will complete on 29th May. The tournament is administered by BCCI and will follow a group stage and playoffs format.
