Virat Kohli is an international cricket player from India and a former captain of the Indian national cricket team. He is a right-handed batsman who competes for Delhi in domestic cricket and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League.

UAE, September 14 (PTI) After a strong performance at the recently concluded Asia Cup, star India batter Virat Kohli rose 14 ranks to be placed 15th in the most recent ICC T20 Internationals batting rankings.

With his impressive batting performance (276 runs in five matches) and first international century in nearly three years at the regional competition played in the UAE, Kohli made substantial gains. Suryakumar Yadav, a middle-order batsman, maintained his position as the top Indian batsman, holding down the fourth spot with 755 points in the batting list, which is headed by Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan (810).

Rohit Sharma, the captain of India, maintained his 14th-place ranking on the list with 606 points.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, an Indian pace bowler, fell one spot to be placed seventh on the list of bowlers, while spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel both saw significant rises in their rankings.

The biggest gainers were the Pakistani bowling pair of Haris Rauf (up nine spots to 25th) and Mohammad Nawaz (up seven spots to 34th) following their impressive showings in the Asia Cup.

However, Australia’s Josh Hazlewood, a fast bowler, continues to lead the bowling rankings with 792 points, followed by Tabraiz Shamsi of South Africa (716) and Adil Rashid of England (716). (702).
