Brett Lee Stunner

One of Australia’s greatest players, Brett Lee Stunner has admitted that he once intended to play a stroke identical to Ishan Kishan’s but was dismissed after the first ball and broke down in tears.

The most exciting inning by an Indian hitter this year was Ishan Kishan’s 210 against Bangladesh in the third ODI at Chattogram earlier this month. Ishan smashed his first century for India and added to its historical significance by turning it into a double off just 126 balls, making it the fastest 200 in ODI cricket history.

Ishan broke a number of records during his extended innings and joined the elite group of Indian players, which also includes Sachin Tendulkar, Virender, and Rohit Sharma. Ishan’s performance had such an impact that it not only helped him clinch a spot in India’s selection for the ODI series against Sri Lanka but also eliminated Shikhar Dhawan from consideration.

Ishan gained fans all over the world, including some of the game’s luminaries, thanks to the destruction he inflicted on Bangladesh. The first ODI triple century, in Sunil Gavaskar’s opinion, can be achieved by Ishan when he continues to bat the way he is currently doing.

In response to Ishan’s powerful performance, former Australia pacer Brett Lee predicted that he would be India’s’sure-shot’ opener for the 50-over World Cup in India the following year. Ishan, 23, put in a lot of effort throughout his formative years in the domestic circuit, which most likely started with Gully cricket, and his moment of success was the result of many years of labor.

Before entering domestic cricket, each Indian cricketer had to go through the gully cricket drills—some still do it now.

Cricketers in Australia must first play backyard cricket, just like in Gully cricket, which is played on the streets of India.

Lee is no exception. In order to relive some of his earlier recollections of backyard cricket, the former Australia pacer explained how he learned the fundamentals while playing at home as a child.

“Backyard cricket served as my personal university or school of thought as I developed the mental skills necessary to one-day play Test cricket. The hostility, annoyance, arguments, rage, and fervor you display when playing backyard cricket. Now, we are very fortunate to live in Australia.

I was born and raised on the south coast of Sydney, and I am aware that not many children have the opportunity to play in lush grassy fields, spacious backyards, or other open areas,” on his official YouTube channel, Lee stated.

“I was bowling for hours, and he finally gets out 200 runs, might have been 300s… a lot of runs.” When it was my turn to bat after that, I wondered how I might build on that innings. I want to try to win the game like Ishan Kishan of the world, but I don’t know how to achieve that. As soon as Shane ran inside after I stole the first ball outside, I began to cry,” he stated.
