Hardik Pandya will captain a young team on India’s trip to New Zealand in 2022, which includes a three-match T20I series there. It’s time for the young guns to put on their best show without Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul.
Highlights:
- From November 18 to November 22 in New Zealand, India will play 3 T20Is.
- On Friday, the series begins in Wellington.
- Plenty is an issue for Hardik and his coach VVS
In their first international series after the conclusion of the 2022 T20 World Cup, India takes on New Zealand.
The squad appeared to be doing well for most of the competition, but in the semi-final against a marauding England team, they looked listless and lost by a score of 10 wickets. The top order’s attitude to the first 10 overs was one of the many issues with how India played the game that was brought up.
India will begin with a brand-new top three because the three players that participated at the time—captain Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli—are all unavailable.
Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan will undoubtedly be their openers, but India can also choose to go with Sanju Samson, who is accustomed to batting in the top order in T20 cricket, or they can give Rishabh Pant a shot at the position.
While Pant is nearly unstoppable in Tests and has lately proven his value in ODIs as well, his inconsistent play with the bat has made it difficult for him to gain a spot in the T20I batting lineup.
However, a number of ex-cricketers have argued that India can best utilize Pant’s undeniable skills if he bats in the top order. If India decides against doing that, they will have to bat him in the lower middle order, where he has so far struggled to produce.
However, if they desire to offer the latter game time, they can play Deepak Hooda or Samson, who favor those places in the starting lineup.
Washington Sundar, who is expected to return, and Yuzvendra Chahal will almost certainly play in all three games of the series. I
It is difficult to imagine Arshdeep Singh and Umran Malik being passed over. Despite his dismal performance in the T20 World Cup, Bhuvneshwar Kumar is also scheduled to play. Finally, captain Hardik Pandya and opener Suryakumar Yadav will play from spots 4 and 5, respectively.
