Demi Vollering, previously with the SD Worx Protime, has agreed to a two-year contract with FDJ-Suez starting with the upcoming 2025 season. The Dutchwoman will be joining Evita Muzic and newcomer Juliette Labous as co-leaders.
With this move, the athlete said: “From the very first meeting with the FDJ-Suez team, I immediately had a good feeling… I couldn’t get the smile off my face.”
She added: “I’m happy to be embarking on this adventure, to experience something new and to rediscover myself in this team… I’ve always liked the collective fighting spirit of FDJ-Suez and its attacking mentality during races. We’re going to have a great team and I’m convinced that great things await us.”
Vollering, who won the 2023 Tour de France Femmes, is undoubtedly the best rider in the women’s race and makes a major impression for FDJ-Suez. She is the most recent of six players that FDJ-Suez has added to their roster in preparation for the 2025 season. The other players include Labous, Elise Chabbey, Ally Wollaston, Eglantine Rayer, and Celia Gery.
Although Vollering signed the deal with FDJ-Suez in the spring, general manager Stephen Delcourt chose to keep the news quiet so that the team could concentrate on this year’s objectives.
He stated: “The official agreement was signed during the end of the spring, and after that, we decided to focus on my side on my team and on her side on SD Worx, because we felt that, together, it was better to wait… Why? She has a lot of respect for the SD Worx partners and her teammates. For that, the best was for her to focus on the Olympics, Tour and Worlds, and to wait.”
