The Celtics will have to prepare without Kristaps Porzingis, as he is out of the lineup due to a right soleus strain he suffered during Monday’s Game 4 matchup against the Heat.
Even though Porzingis’ limping off the court at the end of the second quarter raised some concerns at first, it appears to be a treatable ailment. Boston hopes to keep up the pace against Miami with a dominating 3-1 series lead, but Porzingis’ absence will surely be difficult for the squad.
The Celtics, who have had numerous injury setbacks throughout Porzingis’ career, have fortunately developed a strong ability to adjust to life without their towering asset.
Throughout the regular season, the team has been very careful with his playing time and has become adept at moving the ball around the floor without his commanding presence. Because of this unintentional outcome, the Celtics are now stronger than teams that depend just on one player, and they can still be a powerful team even without Porzingis.
Porzingis out
Al Horford is expected to start in place of Porzingis now that he is out, and the competition for minutes among players like Luke Kornet, Xavier Tillman, and Neemias Queta will test the team’s depth at big man.
The team’s dependence on diverse talent is highlighted by Horford’s promotion, which is a significant turning point. The excitement surrounding these up-and-coming athletes’ impact is growing as they take center stage, offering viewers and commentators an entertaining show.
“KP wasn’t always playing, perhaps for various reasons. Luke, Xavier, and Neemie must therefore be prepared to take over and answer the phone.
For the entire year, they have been performing well. Naturally, things are different now that we’re in the playoffs, but I still have faith in those guys to go in, add some energy, and make an effect on the game.” Horford said to masslive.com.
The Celtics, who have a 3-1 series lead following convincing victories in Games 3 and 4, hope to finish off the Heat. 7:30 p.m. is game five. Wednesday’s game at TD Garden is especially important since it will give Kristaps Porzingis plenty of downtime. The Celtics have a critical chance to win and move on in the postseason.
