Jurgen Klopp Liverpool

Erling Haaland has been making waves in the Premier League and other teams such as Liverpool and Arsenal are looking for strikers that can match Haaland’s capabilities. The search is on for Jurgen Klopp to find his new star player.

According to TeamTalk.com Jurgen Klopp is looking at Cody Gakpo. Liverpool has spent £13 million in add-ons spending to recruit him from PSV for an original £37 million. The Dutchman made his debut in Saturday’s 2-2 Carabao Cup draw with Wolves after signing a long-term contract at Anfield.

They have also spent a record breaking £85 million for Darwin Nunez. These players are to complement each other well in the Premier League. However, despite all of these powerful players that are in Liverpool, there is one that the team is lacking, a version of Erling Haaland.

This supposed Haaland-esque player is Norwegian footballer Andreas Schjelderup. Currently, he is a member of Norway’s U19 national team who is currently a club player for FC Nordsjaelland in Denmark.

Schjelderup is a left winger who, when necessary, can also switch positions to centre forward or central attacking midfielder. He has been tearing up the Danish top division this season despite being only 18 years old.

His 17 Superliga games have resulted in 10 goals and one assist, which justifies the comparisons to Haaland. A fellow Norwegian named Schjelderup, scored 20 goals in 50 games for Molde. He then received a significant opportunity when he joined Red Bull Salzburg.

Liverpool’s rejection

Liverpool initially wanted to sign Schjelderup, but if his stats are not obvious enough, other clubs are just as interested in him too. The 18-year-old has also received offers from Brentford.

Unfortunately for Liverpool, Schjelderup, the brightest prospect in Norway, apparently turned down Liverpool. The 18-year-old Nordsjaelland talent has been linked to the Reds, according to sources, who claim that both they and Premier League rivals Brentford have “offered particular projects” to the teenager.

Their pursuit of him, though, is supposedly over due to the fact that Benfica of Portugal is also interested. They reportedly have a flight booked to Copenhagen to speak with Nordsjaelland about a transfer. Schjelderup, meanwhile, seems committed to Estadio da Luz.
