With his charismatic skills, American sprinter Noah Lyles is working hard to win four gold medals at the upcoming Paris Olympics.
Lyles’s skills in athletics are coupled with his knowledge of how to create an impression, how to act in the limelight, and how to openly express his mind. With these characteristics, he is bound for greater things if viewed from a marketing standpoint.
However, regarding his athletic career, it scarcely excites fans. Lyles was able to secure three golds (100m, 200m, and 4x100m) in the World Championships last year, but only scored one bronze at his one and only Olympics. He is currently ranked 15th on the all-time 10-meter rankings with a record of 9.83.
Lyles The Next Usain Bolt?
Following Bolt’s retirement, athletics has been trying to find a suitable replacement for the well-renowned Jamaican athlete. Bolt became an international superstar not just because of his speed at the track, but also due to his compelling personality. He has won gold medals, including eight from his three Olympic Games.
This is the bar that Lyles wants to achieve at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Fortunately, he is now viewed as the leading guy player in athletics.
By having the 400m to his sprinting portfolio, he will be able to qualify for a relay team and attempt to win four gold medals (100m, 200m, 4x100m, and 4x400m) this 2024 Olympics. This is an achievement that even Bolt was not able to accomplish.
“I’m serious.. I just ran the 4x400m in Glasgow (Indoor World Championships), and I felt that was definitely one of my ways of saying that this isn’t a joke… A lot of people thought I was just doing it for headlines. But, no. I’m full force going in,” Lyles confidently declared.
With his determination and appeal, sponsors came to extend their support. Lyles signed a $10 million contract with Adidas, which claims that he is “the richest in the sport of track and field since the retirement of Usain Bolt.” More so, the energy drink Celsius also offered him a collaboration.
