Athlete Mark Cavendish’s final professional race will be in Singapore, where he will be competing in the two-day Tour de France Criterium from November 9-10, 2024.

Since breaking the Tour de France record with his 35th victory last July, the 39-year-old athlete has not gone to any competition. He declared that he would not compete in another Tour de France after having his knighthood at the Windsor Castle, but he also expressed his eagerness to complete his 2024 season race schedule.

The organizers of the race also stated that this event will be Cavendish’s last not just for the year, but for his entire distinguished career.

Cavendish’s athletic performance

Hailing from the Isle of Man, Cavendish has won 165 races ever since the start of his professional sporting career in 2005. These titles include the 2011 world road title, and an Olympic omnium silver at the Rio Olympics in 2016.

The athlete was said to retire in 2023, but due to a disappointing race-ending crash from the Tour de France that year, he decided to delay his retirement a year later.
