Wasim Akra is a Pakistani Cricket commenter, former cricketer and captain of the Pakistan national cricket team. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest fast-bowler of all time.

In the T20 World Cup 2021 Pakistan’s win over India has made him believe that they can compete against India in Day-in and Day-out. He also felt what was once a competition at World Cup that has suddenly become alive and the outcome results are going to be good.

Also, during the media session, Akram mentioned ‘Pakistan team is on the rise from past few years, their journey has been a roller coaster ride for them but as of now they are in the form they are learning and growing from their previous mistake’.

He further added “Pakistan team have been very consistent in their game, and I think the win against India, even though it was a year ago during the World Cup and they are now all set to compete against India”

In T20 World Cup 2021 when Pakistan won their opening game in the UAE by ten wickets, it was their first win against India after six attempts at the competition. Also, it was the very first time when Pakistan won the men’s World Cup fixture in any format, the final match was a nail-biting match but an interesting one.

This upcoming weekend India and Pakistan are going to knock their horns against each other for the first time in a year they will have their meeting in Asia Cup in Dubai. Also, over the next two weeks, they could potentially meet three times at the high-stakes T20 World Cup fixture on October 23 in Melbourne.

Akram is positive about Pakistan’s chance, but he is also aware of the team’s strength -the top order could become some sort of weakness. In the last T20 World Cup, Pakistan’s top three scored 67.53% of all runs in T20I. And this has been largely down to Mohammad Rizwan, Babar Azman, and Fakhar Zaman.

Akram said “The only thing he is worried about is the middle order, A young sensation who hasn’t been consistent, the main key players of T20 are Babar Azam and Rizwan so far this format has been concerned. Akram things they are generally very confident, but before playing match it depends what kind of mindset they will have as the game can make or break the Asia Cup”
