The PGA Tour announced that Olympic champion and current world number one Scottie Scheffler has won $8 million for topping the Comcast Business Tour Top 10 list that showcases season-long performance.
During the 2024 PGA Tour season, Scheffler won six tournaments, including four Signature Events and the Masters, where he captured his second career major victory.
The athlete said: “It’s been an incredible year for me both on and off the course, so to finish up the regular season by earning the top spot in the Comcast Business Tour Top 10 is an honour.”
“Every year I try to perform and compete to the best of my abilities, so this award really represents the hard work put in throughout the course of the season with the support of my family and team,” he added.
Scheffler’s 2024 victories
After winning his first tournament of 2024 in March at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, Scheffler went on to win four more in five starts, including events at The Players Championship, The Masters, and RBC Heritage. He then proceeded to take home four of the eight Signature Events for the season, including the Memorial Tournament and Travelers Championship.
Moreover, Scheffler won the gold medal at the Paris Olympics following a stellar regular season. He started the final round four strokes behind but closed with a nine-under-par 62 to win by a single stroke.
The top 10 finishers in the FedExCup regular season standings split a $40 million prize as part of the Comcast Business Tour Top 10. Former winners of the British Open and the PGA Championship, Xander Schauffele ($6 million), finished second, and Rory McIlroy ($4.8 million) finished third. Collin Morikawa ($4.4 million) and Wyndham Clark ($4 million) completed the top five.
