Alex Eala made a shocking performance that stunned Sara Errani of Italy, a high-calibre tennis player who ranked 5th around the world, with a score of 6-3, 6-1 that led her to the qualifying round of the Miami Open 2024.
The Filipina tennis sensation was determined to beat Errani, who was also a 2012 Roland Garros finalist, to move forward at the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) 1000 event.
Eala’s performance
Being able to beat a well-renowned player in the tennis industry like Errani, who currently ranks 100th in the world and has five Grand Slam doubles titles, is the biggest victory obtained yet by the 18-year-old player. Truly, her performance is worth celebrating.
Eala shared her achievement in her social media post and said: “A day of firsts at Miami Open! First Top 100 win! First time through the final qualy of a WTA 1000 event! Lets’ keep pushing!”
Sara Errani is a professional tennis player who is a former top-five player in singles and former world No. 1 in doubles. With nine singles titles and 29 doubles titles, she is the Italian tennis player with the highest number of WTA titles.
