Tennis enthusiasts in Singapore are gearing up for an exhilarating week as the Singapore Tennis Open returns to the courts from January 27 to February 2, 2025.
This highly anticipated event marks the first international women’s tennis tournament in the city since 2019 and will be hosted at the cutting-edge Kallang Tennis Hub, which promises to showcase some of the sport’s biggest talents.
According to a Women’s Tennis Association press release, the tournament will kick off with two days of qualifying matches on January 25 and 26, leading into a week filled with over 60 main-draw matches. Players from across the globe will battle it out for the prestigious Singapore title, and fans are invited to experience the excitement first-hand.
Free admission to all qualifying matches
One of the standout features of the Singapore Tennis Open is the free admission to all qualifying matches, making it easy for fans to immerse themselves in the action. Tickets for the main event are now on sale, with prices starting at an accessible $8 for concession tickets and $44 for groups of four.
Co-tournament directors Yazed Osman, Group Head of Events & Placemaking at Kallang Alive Sport Management, and Laura Ceccarelli, Chief Operations Officer of APG, are thrilled about the event. Osman shared, “We’re excited to welcome international women’s tennis back to Singapore. This tournament not only strengthens our connection to the sport but also lays the groundwork for a lasting legacy through extensive community engagement.”
Ceccarelli added, “The Kallang Tennis Hub is an incredible new facility, and hosting our international events here is a dream come true. The energy and passion of Singaporean tennis fans are unforgettable, and I know the players will be eager to compete in front of such an enthusiastic crowd.”
The tournament’s vibrant logo and tagline—“Meet, Play, Love”—have been unveiled, brilliantly capturing the spirit of tennis. Created by Havas Play, the logo features a tennis ball seamlessly integrated with the letter “S,” representing both Singapore and the agility of the sport.
Chance to shine and learn
In addition to the main event, Singapore will host a regional Under-14 competition, providing young athletes the chance to shine and learn from professional matches. Organized by the Singapore Tennis Association, this initiative allows junior players to step onto the same courts as their idols, enhancing their experience and passion for the game.
Community engagement is set to be a cornerstone of the event, featuring outreach programs, meet-and-greet sessions with WTA stars and Team Singapore players, and hands-on opportunities for young athletes through the ActiveSG Tennis Academy.
As the countdown to the Singapore Tennis Open begins, the excitement is building, promising a week filled with thrilling tennis and a strong sense of community.
