Khan paid a 15% fine for his match fee. Before this one, he had already been docked three demerit points for two events during a T20I match against Bermuda.

As a result of a Level 1 ICC Code of Conduct violation, fast bowler Ali Khan of the United States Cricket Team has been suspended for two matches. This happened because he collected one demerit point, bringing his total to four within a 24-month period, which immediately caused the suspension. Tuesday’s World Cup Qualifier Play-off match between the USA and Jersey had Khan breaking the rule.

It was determined that he had broken Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which forbids “using language, actions or gestures which disparage or could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his/her dismissal during an International Match.”

Khan paid a 15% fine for his match fee. Before this event, he had already accrued three demerit points for two different infractions during a T20I match against Bermuda in November 2021 at the ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier Americas Final Antigua.

In addition to Khan, Elliot Miles of Jersey and Jasdeep Singh of Khan’s team were fined for a Level 1 violation. In accordance with Article 2.12 of the Code, which deals with “inappropriate physical contact with a Player, Player Support Personnel, Umpire, Match Referee or any other person (including a spectator) during an International Match,” Singh was given two demerit points and had 30% of his match fee taken away.

The occurrences happened during Jersey’s chase after Khan claimed the ninth and tenth wickets, both of which fell. Although Khan finished with remarkable numbers of 7 for 32, the best by an Associate speed bowler in men’s ODIs, the encounter was marked by high levels of animosity between the two sides, which finally broke out when several players from both teams got into a series of altercations.
