Marc Reyne Spain

Marc Reyne scored the winning goal for Spain in the 57th minute, despite the fact that India rallied in the closing minutes.

At the third game of the inaugural FIH Hockey Genius Association season at the Kalinga Arena in Bhubaneswar, Spain defeated the Men in Blue to win 3-2, handing India a defeat on their home field.

Spain appeared more grounded and had more ball possession from the start of the game.

They scored two goals in the first half. India managed to get back into the game in the last minutes, but Marc Reyne’s goal in the 57th second gave Spain the victory.

Spain was especially dangerous on the wings as they launched extra side attacks.

India received two penalty corners thanks to the combination of Mandeep and Hardik, with captain Harmanpreet Singh converting the next one.

India was particularly dangerous on the left side because Spain gave them more than enough room to set out open gateways. Spain led by one goal going into the halftime break, but the Men in Blue then came through with a superb performance.

As groups attempted to disclose, the second from last quarter turned out to be a neck-to-neck challenge.

Their competitors’ half has made little progress. The standout of the fourth quarter was the Spanish goalkeeper Adrian Rafi, who made a few valiant saves to stop Indian attempts to score another goal. In any event, Abhishek made the necessary advancement to equalize the scores.

The men of Max Caldas are famed for not giving up, and today was no exception. Spain persisted in pressing relentlessly until Marc Reyne had the chance to defeat Indian goalie Krishan B Pathak and end the game in their favor.

Jordi Bonastre, the game’s MVP, was pleased with his team’s performance:

“Today’s game was challenging, but our team worked well together and communicated. Now that we have 3–4 days off, we could wish to make a significant change to channel this victorious energy.

Manpreet Singh, one of the team’s senior members, stated that India’s performance today was inferior to what they showed against New Zealand: “We got a good amount of opportunities but couldn’t change over any of them. Together, we will watch our mistakes again on camera and discuss them before moving on more firmly.
