Fakhar Zaman, an accomplished batter for Pakistan, won’t be traveling with the team to the T20 World Cup because of a knee injury, according to former captain and cricket analyst Rashid Latif.
In the recently concluded Asia Cup 2022, where Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan in the final in Dubai to capture their sixth Asia Cup championship, Fakhar had trouble scoring runs. In the competition, he received points of 10, 53, 15, 5, 13, and 0. He only managed to score 96 runs overall in six games with a strike rate of 103.23.
In the championship match in Dubai against Sri Lanka, the left-handed hitter was struck out for a golden duck. He received criticism for his poor fielding performance throughout the T20 competition as well.
Fakhar may be sidelined for 4-6 weeks due to a knee injury, according to former Pakistan National Cricket Team captain Latif during a conversation on the YouTube channel “Caught Behind.” He declared:
“Fakhar Zaman will not be a member of the group (for the T20 World Cup). He could be out for four to six weeks due to a knee injury. I suppose he’ll need to spend a month in rehab. According to what I understand, Shaheen Afridi too sustained a similar injury. Let’s hope he gets better soon.”
The moment, in the opinion of former Pakistani cricketer Mudassar Nazar, has arrived for the team management to test Zaman once more as the opener. While Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam are excellent openers, in his opinion, they barely dislodge the opposition from the game.
The 66-year-old, who was speaking to Cricket Pakistan, commented on the team’s batting difficulties:
“I am aware of how successful Babar and Rizwan have been, but they rarely win games for the opposition since they bat at the same speed. However, if we are reluctant to alter their union, we might need to change our minds about Fakhar.
In 71 T20Is for Pakistan, Zaman has scored 1349 runs at an average of 21.75 and a strike rate of 129.09 while playing for his country.

“We want to give them plenty of matches and confidence, and these players have performed,” says Azam.
We have seen in the most recent few years that green shirts have performed well, especially in their important events they have worked all hard, even though they were not successful in winning the jackpot.
However, before all this, they are going to compete in the upcoming tournament in Asia.
The teams are not going to play their first match till 28th August 2022 in the Asia Cup.
Though India and Pakistan are facing each other in the Asia cup, the very next time when these two will compete against each other is going to be on 23rd October during the Super 12 of Twenty20 world Cup.

Currently, in the upcoming T20 series of the Asia Cup, he will replace Shaheen Afridi who has been ruled out due to his knee injury. The tournament is all set to knock its horn against India and as mentioned in earlier details the campaign will begin on 27 August, on Saturday. Which I going to be all exciting and fun to watch.
Hasnain starting few months were not very good during his teenage time, he was banned for his illegal bowling actions, and so far he has played 8 ODI and 18 T20I’s for the men in green. Though his ability to bowl 150kph fast-tracked him into World Squads.
In the shortest format, he has taken 12 wickets in the ODI and 17 wickets and was in action with Oval Invincibles in the Hundred Men competition in England.
Whereas talking about Afridi he has been considered as one of the best bowlers in the world. During the Sri Lanka tour test series match, he has been out in the second match. Also in the ODI series against the Netherlands, he was absent for the first two rounds of the match. But later on a day before the final ODI against Dutch, it was announced that he would be out of the tournament due to a right knee ligament injury.

Brickbats for struggling Babar as World Cup exit looms
Babar Azam was supposed to lead Pakistan to Twenty20 World Cup glory but his side are on the brink of an early exit and the usually inspirational skipper is facing growing questions about his batting and leadership.
Azam scored the most runs at last year’s World Cup in taking his country to the semi-finals, where they lost to eventual champions Australia.
But the player ranked among the best batsmen in the world has scored just eight runs in three matches so far in Australia.
He got out for a first-ball duck in Pakistan’s agonising last-ball defeat to arch-rivals India in their first game of the tournament.
The 28-year-old Babar Azam then made four as the team lost by one run against Zimbabwe in a shock defeat.
Pakistan finally managed a win over the Netherlands in their third Super 12 match on Sunday, but they lost four wickets including Azam run out on four while chasing 91.
They play South Africa on Thursday in Sydney and must win their remaining two matches and hope other results go their way to stand any chance of making the semi-finals.
Azam’s struggles have reflected a wider malaise among the Pakistani batsmen at the World Cup.
“Even when they score runs, why we lose? Because of the way they score runs,” said former captain Waqar Younis, also taking aim at Azam’s opening partner Mohammad Rizwan, referring to their scoring rates.
The strike rates of Babar 129.19 and Rizwan (127.11) are below some other T20 openers including South Africa’s Quinton de Kock (136.14) and Indian skipper Rohit Sharma (140.13).
Azam was ranked the leading batsman in the world in T20 international cricket before being displaced by Rizwan during the Asia Cup in September.
Azam has since slipped to fourth but still holds the top position in the ODI chart.
“I think Babar sometimes plays for himself,” another former captain, Wasim Akram, said previously in suggesting the opening batsman drop down the order in the Pakistan Super League. The skipper wasn’t comfortable with the idea.
Waqar called Azam “insecure” and also took aim at his ability as a captain.
“There is a difference between a captain and a leader,” Waqar told a chat show.
Babar Azam – ‘He’s human also’
When India’s superstar batsman Virat Kohli was in a slump earlier this year, Azam backed him to climb out of it, tweeting: “This too shall pass. Stay strong.”
That tweet came back to haunt Azam when former India spinner Amit Mishra sarcastically aimed it back at the Pakistani batsman after another low score against the Dutch.
Vice-captain Shadab Khan jumped to the defence of his leader after the six-wicket victory over the Dutch in Perth.
“He’s a world-class player, no doubt about that, but he’s human also. Sometimes humans make mistakes, but he’s our leader, he’s our best captain,” said Shadab.
“He supports us, so we have to support him now. He’s one shot away (from regaining form).”
Former captain Shahid Afridi also expects Azam, who still averages over 42 in 95 T20 internationals since making his debut in 2016, to prove his doubters wrong.
“Two to three bad games don’t make you a bad player!” Afridi said on Twitter.
“Babar Azam is our most consistent performer, he needs our support and backing.
“He will be back with a big match-winning innings soon.”

After Pakistan’s shocking loss in the T20 World Cup, Shoaib Akhtar yells, “Have A Bad Captain.”
Shoaib Akhtar, a legendary pacer, expressed his displeasure following Pakistan’s shocking loss to Zimbabwe in their T20 World Cup Group 2 encounter in Perth.
After Pakistan was unexpectedly defeated by Zimbabwe in their T20 World Cup Group 2 match at the Optus Stadium in Perth, legendary pacer Shoaib Akhtar expressed his disappointment.
Zimbabwe could only post a total of 130/8 after choosing to bat first thanks to Mohammad Wasim Jr., who took four wickets upon his return to the playing XI. However, Pakistan’s response fell short by runs because of Brad Evans’ fearless final over.
Akhtar criticized the team’s tactics while breaking down the game, even joking that Babar Azam was a lousy captain.
“I have no idea why you guys find it so difficult to comprehend. With our top and middle order, we can have a lot of success, as I have previously stated, and will do so again. We are unable to constantly succeed.
A poor captain represents Pakistan. The World Cup has eliminated Pakistan. In each of the three games that we have lost, Nawaz has bowled the final over, Akhtar said in a video posted to his YouTube page.
The areas where Pakistan has to make changes were also emphasized by Akhtar, especially Babar’s batting order.
“Babar needs to throw down the bat. There is a serious fitness issue with Shaheen Shah Afridi. The captain’s leadership and management both have serious issues. What type of cricket are you playing? We will support you.
When you enter a competition, you can’t just assume that the other participants will let you win “He continued.
Next up for Pakistan in the Super 12 is a match against the Netherlands on Sunday. But a loss might put an end to their T20 World Cup hopes.
