Shinsuke Nakamura, the former Intercontinental Champion, and Seth Rollins, the current World Heavyweight Champion, engaged in a tense confrontation recently on WWE RAW.
They had been partners only the week before when, with Cody Rhodes, they defeated The Judgment Day members in the main event. But, after the exciting tag-team team bout, Nakamura suddenly attacked Rollins for unknown reasons.
Tension reached a breaking point subsequently on RAW when Nakamura justified his conduct, setting the stage for a heated argument.
In an unexpected turn of events, Rollins audaciously proposed to Nakamura a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship. Now everything is lined up for an epic clash.
The handshake between the current champion, Rollins, and Nakamura finalised the agreement, giving the 43-year-old Japanese icon the power to choose the location and time of the match.
Rollins, “The Visionary”, however, was distracted by a cryptic whisper into his ear by Nakamura. The Japanese icon tried to hide his lip movements with his hand to prevent others from making out what he said. So his words remain a tantalising mystery, but the fans are playing a guessing game.
A sharp-eyed fan speculated that the Japanese star had a fun jab at Rollins, teasing him about his wife, Becky Lynch, calling her “hot.” There is also speculation that The King of Strong Style baited Rollins by complimenting Roman Reigns and Jon Moxley (previously Dean Ambrose) of The Shield and making a veiled reference to their greatness.
A laughing WWE fan even made the absurd suggestion that Nakamura scared Rollins by making jokes about looking up his online activities.
Russo: Nakamura, go, win a title in Japan
Vince Russo, a former writer for WWE, proposed a new twist: let the Japanese superstar Shinsuke Nakamura win a title in Japan before reigniting the Stateside ring. Nakamura had a stellar career in Japan, winning the IGWP’s heavyweight, intercontinental, and tag team titles.
Vince Russo shared, “Bro, why not send Nakamura over to Japan to win a title and then have him defend it here against some of those great Japanese wrestlers that the audience loves? Why not? It would be better than anything he’s doing now,” an article from sportskeeda.com shared.
All eyes are on the 43-year-old Japanese veteran, who is prepared to face “The Visionary” and vying for the World Heavyweight Championship.
